Margaret Rose (Newlin) King Daniels, age 83
of Dieterich, Illinois passed away at 9:41 AM – Sunday, October 4, 2015 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital Effingham, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM – Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois with Nate Hagen officiating. Burial will be in the Kerns Cemetery in rural Gila, Illinois. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.
Margaret was born on October 25, 1931 in Jasper County, Illinois the daughter of Otto Peter and Ethel Mae (Weaver) Newlin. She married Jess King and later Robert "Bobby" Daniels and he preceded her in death.
Margaret owned and operated a restaurant in Niantic, Illinois and later worked as a bartender at the Blacktop in Dieterich, Illinois. She enjoyed flower gardening and working in her yard.
Margaret is survived by:
Children – Marsha (Michael) Willison of Louisville, Illinois
Estella Sampson of Springfield, Illinois
Melissa (Mike) Brown of Springfield, Illinois
Sisters – June (Melvin) Lingafelter of Mt. Zion, Illinois
Janice (Darrell) Timmons of Mt. Zion, Illinois
Brother – John (Judy) Newlin of Bradenton, Florida
Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children Roger King, Danny King and Rosemary VanDerwal; brothers Clifford, Harold, Deleene and Carl Newlin.
