Marjorie L. Barthelme, age 92

of Ste. Marie, Illinois passed away at 10:00 AM – Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM – Thursday, August 6, 2015 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ste. Marie, Illinois. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Ste. Marie, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 8:30-11:00 AM – Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the church. In loving memory of Marjorie, memorials may be made to the Ste. Marie American Legion Post #932 Ladies Auxiliary or for masses. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.
Marjorie was born on December 11, 1922 near Pond Grove, Jasper County, Illinois the daughter of Joseph P. and Agnes (Helregel) Strutner. She married Joseph E. Barthelme on January 23, 1946 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ste. Marie, Illinois and he preceded her in death on April 26, 1982.
Marjorie was a lifelong member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ste. Marie, Illinois; Charter member of the Ste. Marie American Legion Post #932 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, baking and feeding her birds. She loved to dance and was one of the original founders of the Ste. Marie weekly dance. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Marjorie was always willing to volunteer and was always lending a hand to someone in need.
Marjorie is survived by: Children – Janyce (Tom) Rubsam of Newton, Illinois; Ed (Diana) Barthelme of Aiken, South Carolina; Robert (Carolyn) Barthelme of Newton, Illinois; Marsha (Mike) Boyle of St. Louis, Missouri; John Barthelme of Olney, Illinois and Tom (Renee) Barthelme of Newton, Illinois
Sister-in-law – Marcella Strutner of West Liberty, Illinois
11 Grandchildren 13 Great Grandchildren
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother Oscar Strutner.
