Marjorie B. Brooks, age 97

Marjorie B. Brooks, of Greenup, Illinois, passed away at 2:20 AM - Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Newton Care Center in Newton, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM – Friday, February 17, 2017, at the Meyer Funeral Home – Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois, with Randal James Rue officiating.  Burial will be in the Hazel Dell South Cemetery in Hazel Dell, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service.  In loving memory of Marjorie, memorials may be made to the Sarah Bush Lincoln Heath Center - Cancer Center.

Marjorie was born on July 19, 1919, in Hazel Dell, Illinois, the daughter of William Joseph "Beamer" and Clara (Rader) Brooks.

Marjorie was a caregiver for her parents for many years.  She then went to beauty college and owned and operated Marjorie's Beauty Shop in Greenup for 30 years.

Marjorie was a member of the Hazel Dell Church of Christ.

Marjorie is survived by many friends who respected and enjoyed her.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister and brother-in-law Orell L. and Harry Farley.
