Marjorie Pearl (Pickens) Harvey, age 91
of Wheeler, Illinois and formerly of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 10:40 AM – Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Effingham, Illinois.
Private family services will be held with burial in the Maple Wood Cemetery in St. Elmo, Illinois. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois.
Marjorie was born on August 17, 1923 in Wheeler, Illinois the daughter of Earnest and Pearl (Austin) Pickens. She married Lawrence Harvey on October 10, 1942 and he preceded her in death on December 26, 1984. To this union was born one son Terrill who preceded his mother in death on January 19, 1991.
Marjorie worked as a salesperson at the Fostoria glass outlet store in Altamont for several years. She was a member of the Latona Church of Christ in Latona, Illinois. She enjoyed crocheting.
Marjorie is survived by: Brothers – Thornton (wife Marilyn) Pickens of Wheeler, Illinois and Larry Pickens of Effingham, Illinois Sister-in-law – Joan Aderman of Altamont, Illinois Many nieces and nephews also survive Special Friends – Ray and Donna Hanna
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence; son Terrill; three brothers Art and Wilma Pickens, Rex and Wilma Jean Pickens and Herbert Shirley Pickens and a sister Lorraine (Vernon) Stauth.
