Mark A. Schuch, age 73, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 6:00 AM - Friday, April 10, 2026, at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 PM on Tuesday afternoon, April 14, 2026, at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois, with Father Tomy Philip celebrating mass. The burial will be in Old St. Peter Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Noon) at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. In loving memory of Mark, memorials may be made to the Old Saint Peter Cemetery Fund. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.
Mark was born on October 26, 1952, in Newton, Illinois, the son of John and Bernadine E. (Rubsam) Schuch, Jr. He graduated from Newton Community High School with the Class of 1970. Upon graduation, he attended an automotive repair training program, this sparked a lifelong career as a dedicated mechanic of McClane Motors for over 35 years. He was a member of Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois.
Mark was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of the Crooked Creek Rebels where he showcased his marksmanship with black powder reenactments.
Mark is survived by:
Siblings- Joan Casteel of Newton, Illinois; Linda Schuch of New Albany, Indiana; Ray (Jeanne) Schuch of Newton, Illinois and Joe (Barbara) Schuch of Newton, Illinois
Nieces, Nephews and a host of Cousins also survive
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jim Schuch and Bob Schuch, sister-in-law Linda Tate Schuch, brother-in-law Rick Casteel and nephew David Schuch.
