Martha L. Swinson, age 96, of Noble, Illinois, passed away at 1:15 PM - Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Richland Nursing and Rehab in Olney, Illinois. Visitation for family and friends will be held 1:00-2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the Thrasher Family Funeral Home in Olney, Illinois. A service celebrating Martha's life will held at 2:00 PM with Bob Totten officiating. Private family burial will be held in Greenhill Cemetery in rural Noble, Illinois.

Martha was born on August 17, 1926, in rural Noble, Illinois, the daughter of Julius Henry and Nellie (Taylor) Alvord. She married Rex Allen Swinson on June 3, 1943, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Together they made a home and had a family in Decker Township in Richland County, Illinois.

Martha was a homemaker and devoted wife to her husband Rex, who preceded her in death on April 1, 2015. Martha loved her family and attended the Christian Church of Noble. She loved to knit, crochet, sew, and enjoyed attending local Country Music concerts and festivals around the area.

Martha is survived: Children - Rex (wife Doris) Swinson Jr. of Noble, Illinois; Steve (wife Barb) Swinson of Noble, Illinois; Paul (wife Diane) Swinson of Greenup, Illinois; and Carolyn Swinson of Olney, Illinois. Numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild also survive.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Robert Alvord, sister Margaret Alvord, grandson Brian Lowe and great grandson Joshua Runyon.
