Martha L. Ives, age 74

Martha L. Ives, age 74, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 8:40 PM - Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM – Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, with Nate Hagen officiating. Burial will be in the Cummins Cemetery south of Newton, Illinois.  In loving memory of Martha, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.

Martha was born on March 10, 1943, in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Cecil and Alice (Taylor) Lowder.

Martha worked at E.R. Moore Cap and Gown Factory in Newton for 5 years and then went to work for the Illinois Department of Human Services in Newton where she retired after 30 years of service.

Martha was a member of the Latona Church of Christ.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting and doing yard work.

Children – Gretchen Ives of Denver, Colorado, Eric (Bonnie) Ives of Cerro Gordo, Illinois, Trista (Brian) Thies of Neoga, Illinois and Katrina Ives (significant other Rodney "Skeeter" Shamhart) of Wheeler, Illinois
Grandchildren – Tonya, Rachel, Elecia and Dylan
Brother – Jim (Pat) Lowder of Mokenea, Illinois

Martha was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Marilyn Lowder.
