Mary Ellen Craig, age 92

Of Hidalgo, Illinois, passed away at 7:56 PM – Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating Mary Ellen's life will be held at 11:00 AM – Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at the Meyer Funeral Home – Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois, with Chris Parr officiating.  Burial will be in the Hays Cemetery rural Hidalgo, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service.  In loving memory of Mary Ellen, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund or the Hidalgo Food Pantry.

Mary Ellen was born on December 4, 1925, near Hidalgo, Illinois the daughter of Linza F. and Ruth H. (Cherry) Jackson.  She married Ralph R. "Bud" Craig on March 10, 1944, and he preceded her in death on September 26, 1972.

Mary Ellen was a homemaker and raised Christmas trees.

Mary Ellen was a member of the Hidalgo Independent Christian Church.  She enjoyed gardening and feeding and watching birds.

Granddaughter – Jeana (Roger) Daniels of Mulberry Grove, Illinois

4 Great Grandchildren and several Great Great Grandchildren

Brother – Lindell (Judy) Jackson of Hidalgo, Illinois

Several nieces and nephews also survive

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Randall L. Craig, grandson Robbie Craig, great grandson Christopher Craig and a brother Lowell Jackson.
