Mary Elizabeth (Phillips) Francis, age 29
Of Newton, Illinois and formerly of Wendelin, Illinois passed away at 2:45 PM - Sunday, October 19, 2014 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM – Thursday, October 23, 2014
at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin, Illinois with Fr. Mark Stec celebrating mass.
Visitation will be held 4:00-8:00 PM – Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the church and 1 hour before the mass. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Wendelin, Illinois.
In loving memory of Mary, memorials may be made to the
Brenly Mae and Brady Edward Francis education fund.
Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.
Mary Elizabeth was born in Evansville, Indiana on July 13, 1985 the youngest daughter of
Michael B. and Cheryl D. (Iffert) Phillips. She grew up in Wendelin, Illinois attending Clay City High School graduating with the class of 2003. Mary attended Olney Central College and then Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville obtaining her degree in nursing. Mary was a Registered Nurse working at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois. She married Brandon Francis on May 26, 2007 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin, Illinois where she was a member. Mary and Brandon started a family welcoming Brenly Mae and then Brady Edward. Mary's family was her life; her greatest joy was being a wife and mother. She loved to work around the house, cooking, landscaping and decorating. Mary was an avid sports fan, she rarely missed attending her nephews Newton Eagle sports or watching the Chicago Cubs or the Chicago Bears play.

Children- Brenly Mae Francis and Brady Edward Francis of Newton, Illinois
Parents- Michael and Cheryl Phillips of Wendelin, Illinois
Siblings- Leslie (Lucas) Meinhart of Newton, Illinois
Jessica (Bradley) Frohning of Newton, Illinois
Jeremy (Tabatha) Phillips of Olney, Illinois
Nieces and Nephews- Andrea Meinhart, Seth Meinhart, Hallie Meinhart, Karli Meinhart, Hunter Frohning, Wade Frohning, Keatan Frohning and Haylen Phillips
Father and Mother in Law- Ed and Paula (Yockey) Francis of Yale, Illinois
Several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends
Mary was preceded in death by her grandparents Leo & Mary Iffert, Burnell & Elizabeth Phillips, aunts Sandy Coan and Betty Wattles.
