Matthew Monroe, age 49, of Fayetteville, Arkansas originally from Olney, passed away  on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at his residence in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Funeral service will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home in Olney. Visitation will be two hour prior to service time from 11 AM-1 PM in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home in Olney. Burial will be in the Haven Hill Cemetery Memorial Gardens in Olney. Pastor Mike Williams will be officiating.

Matt was born on October 3, 1969 in Olney, IL, the son of John and Ann (Hewett) Monroe. He worked in the Walmart Optical Department in Fayetteville. For many years, from his youth, he enjoyed playing the guitar, in which he was very talented.

Matt was survived by both parents and Uncle Jack (Judy) of Benton Il and 6 cousins.

He was preceded in death by all his grandparents.
