Michael D. Geiger, 89, of Oreana, Illinois, died peacefully on January 30, 2024, in his home.

There will be a memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ste. Marie, Illinois at 11:00 AM. There will be a visitation starting at 10:00 AM until service time. Internment will be at St. Valentine Church Cemetery, rural Oblong following the Mass.

Michael was born on January 3, 1935, in Oblong, Illinois (the Bend area), to Frank and Crescens (Iffert) Geiger.  He married Caroline Ruppel on October 18, 1961.
Michael had been a farmer in Oblong, Illinois (the Bend) area), before moving to Oreana, Illinois.  There he worked as a welder for Caterpillar Tractor Company.  In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, traveling, and doing home improvements.

Hei is survived by his wife Caroline Geiger of Oreana, Illinois, son Damon (Deborah) Geiger of Sycamore, Illinois, daughter Pamela (Richard) Roberts of Guston, Kentucky and grandsons Andrew and Michael Geiger, III.  He is also survived by his brother Leon Geiger of Oblong, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents Frank and Crescens Geiger along with his brothers Franklin and Frank Geiger.
