Michael James "Jim" Chapman, age 55

Michael James "Jim" Chapman, age 55, of Willow Hill, Illinois, passed away at 10:30 AM – Friday, June 24, 2022, at his home.

Funeral services celebrating Jim's life will be held at 1:00 PM – Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Tom Matson officiating.  Burial will be in the Brockville Cemetery north east Newton, Illinois, with full military rites.  Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service.  In loving memory of Michael, memorials may be made to the family.  The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .

Michael James, better known as "Jim" was born on November 12, 1966, in Hammond, Indiana, the son of Ky and Shirley (Palmer) Chapman.

Jim served his country in the United States Army and retired after many years of service.  After his service, he worked as an over the road truck driver and delivered camper trailers.

Jim enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with family and friends around a campfire.  Rascal his dog was his buddy and traveled everywhere with him.

Jim was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7537 in Newton, where he served as a trustee.

Jim is survived by:

Children – Amber Chapman of Wheeler, Illinois; Andy Chapman of Marshall, Illinois and Alan Chapman of Maryland

Grandson – Aiden

Sister – Shelia (Bob) Lewis of Willow Hill, Illinois

Nieces and nephews

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
