Obituary

Michael Lee (Captain Mike) Rogers, 70, of Olney, died at 8:25 PM, Tuesday, July 1st, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Sunday, July 6th, 2014 in the chapel of Stasi-Grove Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 AM on Monday, July 7th. Don Thrasher will be officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Memorial Gardens in Olney.

Michael was born on December 13th, 1943, in Bloomington, Illinois, the son of Ernest Charles Rogers and Alberta Lucille (Watson) Rogers. He later married Doris Myers on December 29th, 1978 in Vincennes, Indiana. She survives.

He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. He worked as a welder for Richland Manufacturing building car parts and also worked at Roadmaster. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors watching the wildlife and nature. He attended the Church of God and was a past member of American Legion Post #30. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Michael is survived by his wife Doris Rogers, of Olney; and three aunts Irene, Hazel, and Margie.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Lucille Rogers and four aunts.
