Obituary
Micheal Martin Stanford, age 59 Of Newton, IL passed away at 3:15 PM –Saturday, March 15, 2014 at St John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL with Garry Hostettler officiating. Burial will be in the Honey Cemetery in Bogota, IL. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM – Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the funeral home.
In loving memory of Mike, memorials may be made to his grandchildren's education fund.

Mike was born on June 27, 1954 in Decatur, IL the son of Martin Wilbert and Violet Mae (Wolfe) Stanford. He married Nina Jean Beeson on August 5, 1972 at the Victory Baptist Church near Fairfield, IL. Mike retired after 34 years of service at Ameren CIPS
Newton Power Station and he was also a Baptist Minister.
Mike was a member of the Bogota Baptist Church. He enjoyed collecting antiques and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Mike is survived by:
Wife of 41 years – Nina J. Stanford of Newton, IL 3 Daughters – Jennifer (Brad) Schilt of Sumner, IL Angela (Jason) Buerster of Ingraham, IL Amanda Stanford of Newton, IL
5 Grandchildren – Mykayla Schilt, Emily Schilt, Cora Buerster, Morgan Buerster and
Nolan Stanford
Brother – Bill (Tina) Stopher of Mt. Erie, IL
Sisters – Vicki Mix of Cisne, IL Donna (Rick) Marshall of Mt. Carmel, IL Shelly (Joe) Diebler of Smyrna, TN.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
