Mildred Mae Johnston, age 93, of Mason, Illinois, passed away at 5:30 PM – Monday, August 18, 2025, at The Glenwood Assisted Living of Effingham, Illinois.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM (Noon) - Monday, August 25, 2025, at St John Lutheran Church, 22775 Co Rd 700N, Dieterich, Illinois, with Pastor Dean Herberts officiating. The burial will be in the St John Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM, until service time. In loving memory of Mildred, memorials may be made to the St John Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois. Mildred was born on May 19, 1932, in Effingham County, Illinois, the daughter of Elmer and Emma (Bohnhoff) Fopay. She married Leslie Earl Johnston on October 6, 1951, at Saint John Lutheran Church, and he preceded her in death on June 22, 2009.
Mildred was a member of St John Lutheran Church. She enjoyed raising flowers, gardening, sewing, quilting, cross stitching, needle point, ceramics and painting. Mildred was an excellent cook and gave of her time as a volunteer.

Children – Danny (Brenda) Johnston of Mason, Illinois and Kathy (Glenn) Breedlove of Greenup, Illinois
Grandchildren -Shannon (Mark) Pearcy, Jeffrey (Samantha) Breedlove, Samantha (Kraig) Rubin, Melanie (Benjamin) Stassart and Leslie (Reid) Davis
Great Grandchildren – Chelsea (Dylan) Walden, Cameron Pearcy, Justin Chastain, Allie Davis, Everett Breedlove, Makenzie Breedlove, Madeline Breedlove, Dominic Rubin, Lydia Rubin, and Zane Stassart
Great Grandchildren – Rhett Walden and Raylan Walden
Sister – Dorothy Stirrett of Dieterich, Illinois
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children Allan Johnston, Linda Chastain, and Doyle Johnston.
