Mitzi (Thomason) Sanders, age 82, of Olney, passed away at 1:18 PM on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney after suffering a heart attack at her home on Monday, May 3, 2021.

Mitzi was born on August 30, 1938, in Claremont, the daughter of James and Marie (Fisher) Thomason. She later married Doug Sanders on January 20, 1991 in Olney.

Mitzi was a longtime member of Eureka Church of Christ in Claremont. She was a Customer Service Representative for many years at both Roadmaster and First Financial Bank in Olney before her retirement. She was a graduate of East Richland High School Class of 1956.

Per Mitzi's request, there will be no Visitation or Funeral Services and Cremation rites will be accorded. There will be a private family burial at a later date. Thrasher Family Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Mitzi is survived by her husband Doug Sanders of Olney; son John Eric Wingert and wife Heather of Amarillo, Texas; step-son David Sanders of Olney; cousins Ken Horrall of Olney, Wilson Thomason and wife Louise of Danville, IL, Steve Horrall and wife Jean of Roach, Missouri and Cheryl Billick of Roach, Missouri; grandson Eric of Amarillo, Texas; step-grandchildren Dylan Sanders and Kaylynn Sanders of Olney; and niece Brenda Jones and her husband Don of Big Spring, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents James and Marie Thomason and brother Bob Thomason and his wife Wanda.
