Norma Dale Trainor, age 92

October 23, 1930 – June 2, 2023

Norma Dale Trainor, age 92, formerly of Newton and Robinson, Illinois, passed away at 9:58 PM – Friday, June 2, 2023, at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Norma and her sister Martha Tracy, will be held at 12:00 PM (Noon) – Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.  Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 2 hours before the service.  In loving memory of Norma, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Support Fund, PO Box 333, Newton, Illinois 62448.  The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.

Norma was born October 23, 1930, in Robinson, Illinois, the daughter of Theodore and Alice (Jones) Meeker.  She married Max E. Trainor on July 15, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri, in a double wedding with Max's sister, Dorleen and Keith Webb.  Max preceded her in death on December 3, 2004.
Norma was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved to sew and garden.   She also liked getting together with her sisters, playing cards, and visiting.

Norma is survived by:
Children - Sheila D. (Gregory) Petty Seneca, Illinois; and Kimberly L (Larry) Radke, Morris, Illinois

6 Grandchildren - Kelly Fandel (Arthur Gardner) Pekin, Illinois; Brett (Jennifer) Meinhart, Champaign, Illinois;

Lauren Petty (Hayley Raymond) Issaquah, Washington; Jill (Nick) Shelian, Kronenwetter, Wisconsin;

Jay Radke of Morris, Illinois; and Scott Radke of Morris, Illinois
4 great grandchildren - Carsom Irvin, Makenna Irvin (Fiancé Sydney Argo), Emma Shelian and Matthew Shelian.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Marilyn Simmons, Ginny Schutte,

Harry Meeker, Edward Meeker and Martha Tracy, who passed away eight hours before her.
