Obituary

Otis Earl Greenwood, age 89, of Olney, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at his home in Olney.

Visitation will be Friday, April 14, 2017 from 6-8PM in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 10 AM in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Burial will be at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Claremont. Reverend Bob Totten will be officiating.

Otis was born September 12, 1927, in Olney, the son of Lee and Lydia (Rodgers) Greenwood. He later married Ollie (Jennings) Greenwood on August 8, 1943 in Olney. She preceded him in death.

He worked at the AMF and oil fields for many years. He loved spending time outdoors farming, raising Scotch Highlander cows, and spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Otis is survived by his 5 sons Otis Jr. (Norma) of Noble, Steve (Pat) of Noble, Darrel of Olney, Rocky (Wanda) of Clay City, and Tommy (Tess) of Noble; brothers Truman (Shirley) Greenwood of Olney, Bob Greenwood of Atmore, AL; sister-in-law's Maxine Reed of Salem, Karen Hodge of Iuka, Sandy (Verlyn) Oswald of Iuka, Rosie (Erwin) Hahn of Iuka and Lou Clark of Panama City, FL; grandchildren Wanda (Kent) Johnson of Boliver, MO, Jeff (Robin) Greenwood of Forsythe, MO, Shane Ascher of MO, Michele (Greg) Suddeth, Rhonda Barth of Olney, Chad (Jill) Greenwood of Olney, Jackie (Scott) Kurtz of Mooresville, NC, James (Angie) Greenwood of Fairfield, Korey (Audrey) Greenwood of Noble, and Jacob Greenwood of Noble; great-grandchildren Stormy Randi (Josh) Patke, Jacob Johnson, Ashton (Bo) DeJager, Caitlin and Coy Greenwood, Stormy Asher, Jace, Carly, and Kristen Greenwood, Elizabeth and Abigail Kurtz and Shelby and Josie Greenwood Quinten and Jordan Greenwood; 4 great-great-grandchildren Faith and Elijah Greenwood and Trenton and Isabella Patke; several nieces and nephews.Preceding him in death are his parents Lee and Lydia Greenwood; Sons Alan and Stormy; daughter-in-law Norma; great-grandsons Cameron Greenwood and Elijah Johnson; brothers Lee (Josephine) and Walter (Ada); sister Mildred; brother-in-law's Charlie, Bud, Les, and Everett Jennings; sister-in-law's Jessie Turner, Beulah Colclasure, and Darlene Stopher.
