Paul Francis Strader, age 88

November 12, 1931 – July 15, 2020

Paul Francis Strader, age 88, formerly of Greenup, Illinois, passed away at 8:43 PM - Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating Paul's life will be held at 10:00 AM – Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the Meyer Funeral Home – Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois, with Rick Britton officiating.  Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery in Greenup, Illinois, military rites.  Visitation will be held ½ hour before.  In loving memory of Paul, memorials may be to the Cumberland County Veterans Association.  The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .

Paul was born on November 12, 1931, in Chrisman, Illinois, the son of George Washington and Bytha Viana (Hampsten) Strader.

Paul served his country in the United States Army from November 28, 1950, until November 29, 1952, serving during the Korean Conflict.

Paul was a meat cutter for many years and worked at the Casey IGA.  He enjoyed music, playing the guitar and the harmonica and for many years he had his own band the Strader Raiders.
