Pauletta V. Norris, age 79
Pauletta V. Norris, age 79, of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away Friday morning, May 19, 2017, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Heath Care Center in Effingham, Illinois.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Pauletta, will be held at 10:00 AM – Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Grace Lutheran Church in Dieterich, Illinois, with Pastor Jason Rensner officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in rural Wheeler, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Monday, May 22, 2017, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, and ½ hour before the service in the church. In loving memory of Pauletta, memorials may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church.
Pauletta was born on July 9, 1937, in rural Effingham County, Illinois, the daughter of Vernon and Pauline (Moeller) Koop. She married Dale C. Norris, and together they had one son, Gary. Mr. Norris preceded her in death on January 5, 2015.
Pauletta owned and operated the Village Café and Bar in Dieterich, Illinois, for several years. She had worked at the Effingham Country Club and most recently retired as the Clerk of Bishop Township after 43 years of service.
Pauletta was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dieterich, Illinois, and a member of the Township Officials of Illinois. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, growing flowers and tending to her yard.
Pauletta is survived by:
Son – Gary (wife Cathy) Norris of Effingham, Illinois
Grandchildren – Justin Norris and Jenna Norris both of Effingham, Illinois
Brother – Gene (wife Sharon) Koop of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania
Sister - Ellen Tinges of Effingham, Illinois
Pauletta was preceded in death by her parents, Dale Norris, brother James Koop, who died in infancy, foster sister Roxy (husband Dale) Anderson and a special niece Stacy Koop.
