Pauline Parker, age 86
Of Newton, IL passed away at 7:41 PM – Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Carle Foundation
Hospital in Urbana, IL. She had been residing at Tuscola Health Care Center in Tuscola
Funeral services celebrating Pauline's life will be held at 11:00 AM – Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL with Brad Harper officiating. Burial will be Honey Cemetery in Bogota, IL. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service. In loving memory of Pauline, memorials may be made to the Newton Christian Church, or an organization of the donor's choice. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.blakefh.com.
Pauline was born February 22, 1927, in Newton. She was the third of five daughters and one son born to
Charles D. and Agnes (Tate) Stark. She married Roe Parker on September 1, 1946.
They were married for 64 years before his passing in 2010.
Survivors include one son, Dan (Linda) Parker of Makanda, IL and
one daughter, Sherry (Ray) Crouse of Arcola, IL.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, Amy Jo (Andy) Adams of Champaign, IL, Steve Crouse of LeRoy, IL and Clayton Parker of Makanda, IL; and
three great-grandchildren, Jordyn Crouse, Anna Adams and Andrew Parker Adams.
A brother, Wilford (Virginia) Stark of Arcola, IL and a sister, Pat Newlin of Clearwater, FL also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and
three sisters, Juanita Fiscus, Aleta James, and Joan Pryor.
Pauline was a member of the Newton Christian Church. She was a secretary at Newton Grade School for a few years before going to work at the First National Bank.
She enjoyed meeting people and serving the public, and retired from the bank in 1986 after 26 years.
She and Roe owned and operated the Western Auto Store on the west side of the square during the 1960's.
Pauline enjoyed spending time with her family, and loved to plan family get-togethers at their campground in the country. During their retirement years, she and Roe traveled in their motor home, particularly to Florida and Arizona during the winter months.
