Peggy E. Neil age 78 of Olney, passed away at 1:45 AM, on Sep 13, 2014 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept 16th from 5 - 8 PM at Stasi-Grove Funeral Home. Funeral Services will on Wednesday, Sept 17th at 10 AM in the Chapel of Stasi-Grove Funeral Home in Olney with the Reverend Bill Harrolle conducting the service and burial  will be in Zion Methodist Cemetery in West Salem, IL.

Peggy was born on May 27th , 1936 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of James Marlie Peters and Minnie (Phillips) Peters. She later married Jack Holdrieth who survives and Joe Mewes who preceded her in death.

Peggy was a witty and spontaneous person noted for her own special sayings. She was Southern Baptist by faith worked at Paxton Hospital in Paxton, IL and Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney as a CNA and earlier in life she worked at Steak and Shake as a waitress which she dearly loved doing. She loved her children, giving and helping others, joking around with the people she loved, giving them nicknames, working with seniors, the color purple, wrestling, gardening, animals, a Cardinals fan and loved country music. She will truly be missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

She is survived by 3 sons, Garrey Holdrieth of Olney, Jack Holdrieth and wife Marcia of Olney, Jay Mewes and his wife Denise of Tuttle, OK, daughter Becky (Mewes) Luther of Olney, 3 brothers, Mike, Bill and Jeff Peters and special friend Anita Schultz, grandchildren, Birgit, Justin, Ryan, Stephanie, Jennifer, Nicholas, Alexander, Jantzen, great-grandchildren, Conner, Emma, Carter, Micah, Katelynn and Gabriel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Joe Mewes, brother James Peters and sister JoAnn Nichols.
