Mrs. Phyllis Marie Abraham, age 83

Mrs. Phyllis Marie Abraham, age 83, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 3:19 PM - Friday, October 20, 2017, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Phyllis, will be held at 11:30 AM – Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Rev. Steve Willis and Larry Abraham officiating.  Burial will be in the Hazel Dell Cemetery in Hazel Dell, Illinois. Visitation will be held 2 hours before the services at the funeral home.

Phyllis was born on August 14, 1934, in Wayne, Michigan, the daughter of Luther and Blanche (Moffitt) Thomason.  She married Byrl Everett Abraham in 1951, and he preceded her in death on May 20, 1991.

Phyllis was loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was also a Certified Nurse's Assistant.  She was a caregiver to many and enjoyed her time with her family.

Children – Loran Abraham of Newton, Illinois; Robert (Cindy) Abraham of Mattoon, Illinois; Sandra (Keith) Schackmann of Newton, Illinois; Cathy (Ken) Rhodes of Urbana, Illinois; Richard (Deb) Abraham of Des Moines, Iowa; Mary Abraham of Effingham, Illinois; Ronald Abraham of Effingham, Illinois and two granddaughters, she raised as her own Nikkole Kinsel of Olney, Illinois and Loraine Cavasos of Palestine, Illinois

Sisters – Freda Mauney of Wayne, Michigan and Virginia Abraham of Toronto, Canada

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 grandchildren Nicholas Abraham and Michael Abraham, daughter-in-law Susan Abraham, siblings Harold, Bill, Bud, George, June, Elmer, Ben, Joyce, Nona, and three infant siblings.
