Randall Joe “Randy” Loy, age 74, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 9:40 AM on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services celebrating Randy’s life will be held at 12:00 PM (Noon) on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Kevin Colclasure officiating. The burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery west of Latona, Illinois. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM until service time. In loving memory of Randy, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Support Fund, PO 333, Newton, Illinois 62448. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.
Randall known by his family and friends as Randy was born on July 11, 1951, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of William Franklin and Georgia Lucille (Utley) Loy.
Randy graduated from Newton Community High School with the Class of 1969. He retired from the Jasper School Unit #1 after 32 years of service in maintenance.
Randy was a member of Scott Avenue Christian Church in Newton and Newton Masonic Lodge #216. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends, especially his son and grandchildren.
Randy is survived by:
Son– Bill Loy (Rachl Rabideau) of Newton, Illinois
Grandchildren- Hannah Loy (Kyllie Johnson) of Wheeler, Illinois; Trevor Loy of Newton, Illinois and Kody Loy of Lawrenceville, Illinois
Brothers- Clifford Loy, Steve (ChongAe) Loy, Bob (Nancy) Loy and Fred (Patti) Loy
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Karen Loy Price, Terry Loy, Mark Loy, Dorothy Loy Chapman Einhorn.
