Ray Ferguson, age 92
Ray Ferguson, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 10:28 PM – Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Funeral services celebrating Ray's life will be held at 10:00 AM – Monday, April 23, 2018, at the Latona Church of Christ in Latona, Illinois, with Nate Hagen officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. In loving memory of Ray, memorials may be made to the Latona Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Ray was born on October 12, 1925, in rural Willow Hill, Illinois, the son of Vint and Florence (Pippin) Ferguson. He married IrmaLee French on August 29, 1947, in Willow Hill, Illinois.
Ray was a farmer and a farm mechanic for Kocher Implement in Ste. Marie, Illinois, and Newton Implement in Newton, Illinois for many years.
Ray was a member of the Latona Church of Christ and Jasper County Antique Tractor Club. He enjoyed gardening, hunting deer, quail and mushrooms.
Ray is survived by:
Wife of 70 years – IrmaLee Ferguson of Newton, Illinois;
Daughters – Cheryl (Raymond) Kuhl and Pam (Keith) Blank both of Newton, Illinois
Grandchildren – Jason (Marie) Kuhl of Newton, Illinois; Rodney (Alison) Kuhl of Dundas, Illinois; Roger (Kim) Kuhl of Cantrell, Illinois; Travis (Erika) Blank of Palestine, Illinois; Mark (Brigit) Blank of West Liberty, Illinois; Kristi (Anthony) Kessler of Dundas, Illinois and Philip Blank (fiancé Kayla Goodwine) of Palestine, Illinois
Great Grandchildren – Grace Kuhl, Kaden Kuhl, Rylan Kuhl, Emmett Kuhl, Aurora Kuhl, Jerika Coffman, Shara Coffman, Taylor Blank, Riley Blank, Kylee Blank, Aiden Blank, Brynlie Blank, Scott Kessler, Elizabeth Kessler, Carly Kessler and Adam Kessler.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, great grandchildren Isaac and Reese Kessler and his brothers Forest, Floyd and Leroy Ferguson.
