Recil D. Karn, age 72 of Olney, passed away at 6:50 AM on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Burgin Manor in Olney.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation rites will be accorded.

Recil was born on April 7, 1945, in Mt. Vernon (Jefferson County), the son of Melvin E. and Lula (Troubaugh) Karn. He later married Carlene Tolliver on July 4, 1998 in Enterprise, Illinois. She survives.

He worked as a laborer at GSI for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Olney. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and riding his 3 wheeler. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Recil is survived by his wife, Carlene Karn of Olney; 2 sons, Recil G. Bauer and wife Paige of Texaco, Illinois and Lesley Bauer and his wife of Mt. Vernon; 2 daughters Jolene Houser and husband James of Ardmore, Oklahoma and Michelle Harris and husband Sean of Olney; several grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Lula Karn, grandson Jeoffry Johnson and mother-in-law Ruth Tolliver.
