It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of retired K9 Officer Dano, a loyal and dedicated member of the Newton Police Department in Newton, Illinois from 2013-2021. Dano passed away on April 9, 2026, after a short battle with kidney disease.
In honor of Dano, a walk-through will take place from 9:00-10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the Meyer Funeral Home, 307 West Jourdan Street, Newton, Illinois. The walk-through will serve as a movement of respect and gratitude for Dano’s years of dedicated service, courage, and loyalty. A private burial will be held.
