Richard C. "Dick" Taylor, Sr, age 63, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 3:38 PM – Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Helia Health Care in Newton, Illinois.

A gathering for family and friends to celebrate Dick's life will be held at 3:00 PM – Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Sam Parr State Park (White Oak picnic area) north east of Newton, Illinois.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.  The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .

Richard better known to his family and friends as Dick was born on April 1, 1959, in Olney, Illinois, the son of James Brent "Jim" and Ann (Weber) Taylor, Sr.

Dick enjoyed riding his bike and taking care of his yard.  He also enjoyed taking care of his cats, which he claimed weren't his, but we all know better.

Dick is survived by:

Mother – Ann Taylor

Sons – Clyde (Elissa) Powell and Rick Taylor

Brothers – Phil (Mindy) Taylor and Dan (Tony Archer) Taylor

Sisters – Joanie (Frank) Herbert

Sister-in-law – Karen Taylor

Many nieces and nephews

Dick was preceded in death by his father and brother Jim Taylor, Jr.

The family would like to thank the Newton Care Center (Helia Healthcare) and Carle Hospice for the compassion they showed Dick while he was in their care.
