Richard Lee "Dick" Tracy, age 84
Of Newton, Illinois passed away at 6:38 PM - Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the
St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM – Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois with Rev. Ron Linder officiating.
Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM –
Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the funeral home with Masonic rites at 7:00 PM.
In loving memory of Dick, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital or donor's choice.
Richard Lee better known as "Dick" was born on March 9, 1930 in Crawford County, Illinois the son of Lester and Letha (Alexander) Tracy. He married Martha Meeker of Robinson, Illinois on March 7, 1949 in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Dick graduated with the Class of 1947 from Oblong High School in Oblong, Illinois.
Dick worked at Heath in Robinson, Illinois for several years and moved to Newton, Illinois in 1965 where he purchased the Marathon Station on the North East side of Square. Dick owned and operated Dick's Marathon Station until 1980. He later worked as an attendant for
Dirtbuster Car Wash in Newton, Illinois.
Dick was a member of the Newton Masonic Lodge #216 and a 32 degree Mason and member of the Valley of Danville Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite.
Dick enjoyed playing pool, fishing, dancing and playing cards.

Lori (Bob) Payton of Wichita Falls, Texas
Brother – John (Janez) Tracy of Robinson, Illinois
Sister – Sharon (Fred) Boyd of Huntsville, Texas
Sister-in-law – Blanche Tracy of Ft. Wayne, Indiana
7 Grandchildren 11 Great Grandchildren
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Bob Tracy.
