Richard Leroy "Dick" Miller, age 83, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 12:34 PM – Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Helia Healthcare in Newton, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.  Burial will be in the Honey Cemetery in Bogota, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service.  In loving memory of Dick, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund, PO Box 333, Newton, Illinois 62448.  The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .

Richard Leroy better known as "Dick" was born on January 25, 1939, in Olney, Illinois, the son of Edward and Rosemary (Bergbower) Miller.  He married Ruth Fuson on January 8, 1966, and she preceded him in death on May 11, 2019.

Dick owned and operated Miller's Trucking in Newton for many years.  Following his retirement, Dick rode a bicycle all around the Newton area picking up aluminum cans.

Dick was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Newton.  He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, watching westerns and loved to listen to Hank Williams, Sr.

Niece – Debbie Fuson of Newton, Illinois

Great Niece – Lea Ann Fuson of Effingham, Illinois

Great-great Nephew – Bryan Fuson of Mattoon, Illinois

Great-great Niece – Melissa Ann King of Kansas City, Kansas

Several cousins also survive

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother James Edward Miller.
