Rita A. (Stellman) Damm, age 65 of Claremont, passed away at 2:20 PM on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Friday, January 8, 2021 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home in Olney. Private family and close friends funeral service will be at 10 AM on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stringtown. Burial will be at Stringtown Cemetery in rural Richland County. Father Mark Stec will be officiating.

Masks and social distancing are required for both services.

Rita was born on January 1, 1956 in Lawrenceville, the daughter of Felix and Clara (Elder) Stellman. She married Ronald A. Damm on April 21, 1979 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2012.

She was a bus driver for the Richland County School District for many years until her retirement. She had a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and enjoyed painting, working on pottery and making many other items out of clay. She also enjoyed traveling to visit her sons and family and spending lots of time loving on her grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stringtown. She was also a member of Stringtown Community Club and Richland County Homemakers Education Association.

Rita is survived by her 2 sons Matthew Damm and wife Christina of Gunnison, Colorado and Philip Damm and wife Dalinda of Savery, Wyoming; brother Felix Stellman II and wife Donna of Galveston, Texas; sister Shelley Buckley and husband Mike of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and 5 grandchildren Hunter, Skylar, Carter, Morgan, and Reid Damm.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ron Damm, parents Felix and Clara Stellman and brother John Stellman.

Memorials can be send to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stringtown in memory of Rita Damm.
