Robert "Bob" E. Brooks, age 93, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 7:00 PM – Wednesday, August 7, 2024,
at Helia Health Care in Newton, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Central Christian Church in Newton, Illinois, with Pastor Mike Knepper and Scott Wilson officiating. The burial will be in the Westlawn Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 5-7 PM at the Church. Bob was born on October 4, 1930, in Torrington, Wyoming, the son of Owen and Ada (Thomas) Brooks. He was a graduated of Newton Community High School, Class of 1948. Bob married the love of his life Anita Trainor in January of 1954, and she preceded him in death in January 2018. Bob proudly served his country by joining the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. Bob became a farmer, raising both crops and livestock. After his retirement from farming, he went to work at Newton Implement, as a salesman. He had collected many toy tractors over the years as driving a tractor was what he enjoyed doing. He was a long-time member of the Central Christian Church in Newton.

Gregg (Chris) Brooks of Olney, Illinois
Laurie (Scott) Wilson of Newton, Illinois
Grandchildren: Kelli Wilson, Jeff (Deane) Bruner, Kim (Robert) Newell and Lindsay (Dusty) Reagan
Sister-In-Law Barbara Shelton
8 Great-grandchildren and 12 Great-Greatgrandchildren plus one on the way.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Owen and Ada Brooks, wife Anita, grandson Kyle Wilson, brothers Maurice and wife Janet Brooks, Ralph and wife Roseann Brooks, sisters Ruth and husband Glenn Gorman, Kay White, brother-in-law Mike McWhirter and wife Margie.
Bob's family would like to thank his "family" at Newton Care Center for all their love and care during his stay there!
