Of Newton, IL passed away at 7:15 AM - Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Cumberland Rehab and Health Care Center in Greenup, IL. Services celebrating Bob's life will be held at 7:00 PM – Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Blake-Buchanan Home in Newton, IL with Pastor Mark Wilkinson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until service time. In loving memory of Bob, memorials may be made to Bob's Grandchildren's Education Fund . He was born on June 30, 1943 in Newton, IL the son of Vernon Samuel "Chick" and Nellie Jane (Bickers) Hanson. He married Elaine Neese on October 28, 1972 in Newton, Illinois and she survives. Bob was a member of the Scott Avenue Christina Church in Newton. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with his family especially his wife, children and grandchildren. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Elaine, and children Carol (Mark) Nichols, Bobbie Hanson-Miller and Brooke (Tom) Bridges all of Newton. Grandchildren- Josiah Robert Nichols, Michelle Alaine Nichols, Natalee Brooke Miller, Adam Robert Bridges and Blaine Robert Miller. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandchildren Samuel Miller, Marlee Bridges and a brother Vernon Hanson.
