Robert F. "Bob" Kerner, age 90
Of Willow Hill, IL passed away at 4:15 PM – Monday, March 26, 2012 at his home.
Funeral services celebrating Robert's life will be held at 3:00 PM- Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL with Ron Mulvey officiating. Burial will be in the New St. Peter Cemetery in Newton, IL with full military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service. Bob was born on December 28, 1921 in Jasper County, IL the son of William and Clara (Michl) Kerner. He married Ruth Eloise Addis on December 21, 1946 and she preceded him in death on January 31, 1991.
Bob served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII.
Bob was co-owner of Berkie and Bob's Garage in Newton for many years. He was a member of St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton. He was a Lifetime member of the Newton VFW Post #7537 and a 67 year member of the Jasper Post #20 American Legion.
Bob enjoyed woodworking and the outdoors.

Daughter – Elaine Kitchen of Willow Hill, IL
Daughter-in-Law – Lucille Kerner of Blackhawk, SD
Grandchildren – Debbie Wells, Brenda Kerner, Robert Kerner, Vickie Kitchen, Nickie Kitchen Hayes and Rachel Kitchen Smith.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, 2 sons Robert William Kerner and Gary Joe Kerner; sister Esther Schafer and a brother Delbert Kerner.
