Mrs. Roberta Margaret Bower, age 92

Of Newton, IL passed away at 12:10 AM - Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL with Nate Hagen officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Newton, IL. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM – Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the funeral home. In loving memory of Roberta, memorials may be made to the Latona Church of Christ.

Roberta was born on June 17, 1920 in Jasper County the daughter of Monte and Nina (Brothers) Utley. She married Henry Leroy Bower II on August 10, 1938 in Terre Haute, Indiana and he preceded her in death on December 6, 1994.
Roberta worked for many years at the Newton Box Factory and retired from United Technologies Incorporated.
Roberta was a member of the Latona Church of Christ; Ladies Auxiliary of the Jasper Post #20 American Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Newton VFW Post #7537. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.

Kenny (Charlotte) Bower of Wheeler, IL

2 Daughters – Rita (David) Dallmier of Stoy, IL
Donna (Monte) Bemount of Newton, IL
28 Grandchildren
Several Great and Great Great Grandchildren also survive.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Mary Wetherholt- Lewis, grandchildren Tim Wetherholt and Joey Bower, brothers Edward M. and Pearl Utley and special friend Irl Franke.
