Ronald Wayne Fleenor, age 77, of Toledo, Illinois, passed away at 6:30 PM – Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, Illinois.
Funeral services celebrating Ronald's life will be held at 12:00 PM (Noon) Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the First Southern Baptist Church, 404 US 40, Greenup, Illinois, with Pastor Brooke Davis officiating. The burial will be in Janesville Cemetery with full military rites by the Cumberland County Veterans association. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM, until service time at the church. In loving memory of Ron, memorials may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home – Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois. Ronald was born on November 12, 1946, in Mattoon, Illinois, the son of Nelson Ronald and Bessie "Jerry" (Henderson) Fleenor. He graduated from Mattoon High School with the Class of 1965. After high school Ron served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from August 1966 to his honorable discharge in August 1968. During his service he was stationed in Germany and Vietnam. He married Nancy Kemper on June 21, 1970, in Toledo, Illinois.
Ronald retired from RR Donnelly in Mattoon after 43 years. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Greenup, Toledo American Legion, Mattoon VFW.
Ronald was an avid woodworker and had built numerous pieces and furniture for his family, especially his grandchildren and signed each piece "Pop" and with the year. He also enjoyed motorcycle riding and attending car shows.
Ron enjoyed spending time with this family, especially his grandchildren, who affectionally called him "Pop."

Wife of 54 years – Nancy Fleenor of Toledo, Illinois Daughters – Tabitha "TL" (Matt) Green and Sandy (Larry) McCollough both of Greenup, Illinois
Grandchildren – Tayler (Jake) Hewing, Hanna (Tim) Carll, Heath Green (Shey Seaney), Mara McCollough, and Mattison (Jason) Smith
Great Grandchildren – Ava Carll, Emery Carll, Bryce Carll, Finn Carll, Elsie Hewing, Walker Hewing, Oaklynn Green, Parker Green, Sawyer Green, and Belle Smith
Sister - Linda (Tom) Niemeyer of Humboldt, Illinois
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Randy Lee Fleenor.
