Ronald Earl "Ron" Wilson, age 80

July 16, 1940 – September 4, 2020

Ronald Earl Wilson, age 80, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 1:50 PM – Friday, September 4, 2020, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Private family services will be held.  The family is being assisted by the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.  In loving memory of Ron, memorials may be made to the Free Methodist Church, c/o The Wilson Family, 207 East Wilson Street, Newton, Illinois 62448.

Ronald was born on July 16, 1940, in Newton, Illinois, the son of Victor and Flossie (Cramer) Wilson.

He married Pete Ballard on September 28, 1995, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Ron was known for his carpentry and his upholstery skills.  He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Ron was a lifelong member of the Free Methodist Church in Newton, Illinois.

Ron is survived by-

Wife of 24 years - Pete Wilson of Newton, Illinois

Children - Tony Wilson of Lawrenceville, Illinois; Rusty Wilson of Lawrenceville, Illinois;

Paul (Michelle) Wilson of Austin, Texas; Jeff Wilson of Lawrenceville, Illinois;

Lynn Irvine of St. Augustine, Florida; Rand (Tracey) Taylor of Mobile, Alabama and

Amy Eddy of St. Augustine, Florida

12 Grandchildren    13 Great-grandchildren

Ron was preceded in death by his parents.
