Rose Marie Buerster, age 89

Rose Marie Buerster of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 9:57 AM – Friday, May 25, 2018, at Lavender Ridge in Effingham, Illinois.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM – Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin, Illinois.  Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Wendelin, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM – Monday, May 28, 2018, at the church and 1 hour before the mass.  In loving memory of Rose Marie, memorials may be made to the Holy Cross Catholic Church.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.  The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .

Rose Marie was born on December 23, 1928, in Ste. Marie, Illinois, the daughter of August and Helen (Litzelman) Radke.  She married Harold Buerster on May 10, 1949, at St. Mary the Assumption Catholic Church in Ste. Marie, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2012.
Rose Marie was a famer's wife and grandmother. She was a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton and former member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin, Illinois.

Rose Marie was a member of the Ste. Marie Post #932 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Clay County Home Extension, and the Holy Cross Ladies Sodality.

Rose Marie enjoyed making quilts which she shared with her family, gardening, raising flowers, baking and doing genealogy.

5 Children – David (Joan) Buerster of Newton, Illinois; Robert (Mildred) Buerster of Olney, Illinois; Rev James Buerster of Germantown/Bartelso, Illinois; Mary Pat (Leo) Ginder of Clare, Michigan and Susan Sandschafer of Effingham, Illinois.
Grandchildren – Kimberly (Keith) Wilson, Katie (Adam) Kuhl, Jennifer (Carson) Lomax, Lisa (Phil) Ozier, Karen  (Micky) Marlow, Amy (Corey) Coleman, Brian Ginder, Valarie (Kevin) Huber, Mark (Catherine) Sandschafer, Erica (Eric) Quint, Bridget (Mark) Milleville, Steve Sandschafer, Jill (Kevin) Will.
Great Grandchildren – Brock Wilson, Briley Wilson, Addison Kuhl, Roxie Kuhl, Kasem Kuhl, Tyler Lomax, Preston Ozier, Lindsey Ozier, Charles Ouda, Victor Ouda, Ariya Coleman, Jacy Ginder, Kassie Huber, Karlina Huber, Connor Gordon, Tanner Sandschafer, Jacob Sandschafer, Abigail Quint, Alexander Quint, Charles Quint, Matthew Quint, Samson Milleville, Allie Milleville and Robert Marlow.

Sisters – Joan Rans of Apple Valley, California and Evelyn Null of Joliet, Illinois

Rose Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Brenda Sue Buerster, great granddaughter Julia Quint, son-in-law Leonard Sandschafer and two sisters Maxine Geltz and Nancy Radke.
