Rosemary E. Souden, age 85
Formerly of Newton, Illinois passed away at 7:10 AM – Saturday, January 31, 2015
at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
Funeral services celebrating Rosemary's life will be held at 3:00 PM - -Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held 2 hours before the service. Rosemary was born on February 24, 1929 in Newton, Illinois the daughter of Roe and Ruby (Shacklee) Greenwood. She married Forrest F. Long on April 27, 1944 and later married Herman B. Souden on July 9, 1968 and preceded her in death on December 24, 1998.
Rosemary grew up and lived her life in Newton, Illinois as a homemaker and mother until later years due to health she moved to Altamont, Illinois to be closer to family. She always welcomed family to her home and loved company coming to visit.
Rosemary was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois.

Son – Roy (Linda) Long of Altamont, Illinois
Step Children – Patricia Lewis of Olney, Illinois; Janet Cook of Desoto, Missouri,
Brad Souden of Newton, Illinois and Nikki (Jim) Wilhelm of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Brother-in-law Harry Wilkerson of Athens, Georgia
several grandchildren, step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter and son-in-law Carolyn Sue and Richard Haught; step son Edward D. Souden; sisters Erma Jean Greenwood and Rosalie Wilkerson.
