Ruth C. Hathaway, age 83
of Nashoba, Oklahoma and formerly of Newton, Illinois passed away at 12:32 PM - Monday, February 9, 2015 at the
Norman Regional Healthplex in Norman, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM – Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the Meyer Funeral Home in
Newton, Illinois with Rev. Stephen Willis officiating. Visitation will be held 2 hours before the service.
In loving memory of Ruth, memorials may be made to the family.

Ruth was born on August 6, 1931 in Bogota, Illinois the daughter of Olin and Edna (Sparling) Cook.
Ruth married Clarence Hathaway and he preceded her in death on August 9, 1980.
Ruth worked for many years at Essex in Newton, Illinois until retiring in 1986.
Ruth enjoyed the simple things in life, spending time with family and friends, nature walks, working puzzles and cooking.
Ruth is survived by-
4 Children- Janet Shelly of Nashoba, Oklahoma;
Carol Shelly of Los Angeles, California;
Randy (Angie) Shelly of Newton, Illinois and
Misti (Troy) Woods of Minot AFB, North Dakota
Sister- Ruby Wilson of St. Elmo, Illinois
11 Grandchildren 10 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence; Daughters Rita Smith,
Linda Shelly and Beverly Shelly; 5 brothers Raymond Cook, Ralph Cook, Richard Cook,
Doyle Cook and David Cook.
