Ruth Ann (Stanley) Gibbs, age 71, of Olney, passed away at 11:13 AM on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana.

Funeral service will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Noble Prairie Cemetery in Noble. Pastor Jonathan Miller will be officiating.

Ruth was born on March 24, 1946, in Champaign County, Illinois, the daughter of Vernon and Ruth (Poore) Stanley. She later married Eweng Vernon Gibbs on April 4, 1966 in Urbana.

She worked as a waitress for many years. She was a member of Eagles Lodge in Olney. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Ruth is survived by her 2 sons, Timothy Lee Gibbs of Olney and Kenneth Ray Gibbs; daughter April Ann Gibbs of Olney; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Eweng Vernon Gibbs, parents Vernon and Ruth Stanley, 2 sons Michael and Toby Lee Gibbs and 1 great grandchild.

Memorials can be sent to the American Cancer Society in memory of Ruth Ann Gibbs.
