Ruth Marie Martin, age 93 of Olney, passed away at 1:20 AM on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

Visitation will be Friday, September 2 from 10 AM – Noon in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow. Burial will be at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Claremont. Doyle Roth will be officiating.

Ruth was born on December 7, 1922 in Noble the daughter of Frank and Ida Mae (Harmon) Wilson. She later married Harry Martin on January 13, 1943 in Olney. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1979.

She was a homemaker for many years. She also attended Elm Street Christian Church and Eureka Church of Christ. She was a Boy Scout Leader and enjoyed doing crafts. She also taught ceramics. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

Ruth is survived by 2 sons, Norman Martin and wife Cindy of Grayson, Georgia and Alan Martin of Olney; sister Lena Roth and husband Jim of Olney; 6 grandchildren, Logan Martin and wife Lisa of Lowell, Michigan, Antoinette Horton of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Rodney Martin of Granite City, Illinois, Deborah Lomas and husband Tom of Olney, Leigha Wells of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Janaria Dunahee and husband Jared of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 14 great-grandchildren, William and Samuel Martin, Jeremy and Caroline Horton, Michael and wife Jennifer Lomas, Cassandra, Alexandra and Samuel Lomas, Logan and Lucas Wells and Blake, Garrett and Jillian Dunahee;  great-great-grandchild Sandra Lomas and 3 step-great-great-grandchildren, Rylen, Ethan, and Lynden Fox.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Martin, parents Frank and Ida Mae Wilson, son Larry Martin, daughter-in-law Sandy Martin, half-sister Pauline Rawlings, grandson William Martin and great-great-grandson Tommy Lomas Jr.
