Sandra Jean Blackford, 84 of Olney passed away on May 16, 2022 at her residence.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Friday, May 20, 2022 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11 AM on Saturday, May 21, 2022 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Burial will be at Crest Haven Memorial Park at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded. Pastor Todd Bettis will be officiating along with Matthew Stolte.

She was loved by everyone that met her and she touched so many lives over the years. She loved traveling with her husband, her favorites were Florida and Tennessee and a fabulous trip she won to New York. She treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sandra worked at Children and Family Services for several years then moved on to work at Olney Central College for over 20 years.

She happily served the children of our community through those jobs as well as a 4-H leader. She was an avid lover of books and looking through the aisles of the resale shops for treasures.

Sandra was born on March 16, 1938 in Elwood, Indiana the daughter of Lloyd and Virginia (Hedges) Wilson. She married Don Blackford October 6, 1956. They were proudly married for 65 years, 7 months, 10 days.

She is survived by her husband Don, daughter Amy Ramsey (Dan) of Indianapolis, and daughter Bobbi Blackford of Olney; grandchildren Tyler Blackford (Jenna), Danielle Legg (Shaun), Logan Ramsey and Caleb Ramsey; great-grandchildren Griffin and Owen Legg; sister Barbara Kay Stolte of Arvada, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Virginia Wilson, brother-in-law Robert Stolte and nephew Eric Stolte.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in her honor to OCC Foundation or Richland County Hope.
