Sarah E. Jones, 87
formerly of Newton, IL, passed away February 19, 2012 in Topeka, KS. She spent her life in Illinois before moving to Topeka in 2003.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM – Friday, February 24, 2012 at Rose Hill Community Church in Rose Hill, IL with David Heath officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, IL. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the services in the church. In loving memory of Sarah, memorials may be made to the Rose Hill Community Church, Latham Methodist Church or Illini Chapter of Eastern Star. Arrangements are under the care of the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.blakefh.com.
She was born June 8, 1924 in Logan County, IL the youngest of thirteen siblings. Being survived by, one brother, Gene C. Waddell of California.
Sarah married John F. Jones on June 2, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. He passed away on December 8, 2006.
She was a proud 60 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Latham United Methodist Church and associate member of the Rose Hill Community Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandy Brooks and her husband Don of Decatur, IL; daughter, Barb Bowen and her husband Bill of Topeka, KS; daughter-in-law, Cathy Jones, Huntsville, AL; grandson and his wife, Jonathan and Mary Brooks, Alexandria, VA; grandson and his wife, Matt and Kim Love-Jones, Huntsville, AL; granddaughter, Alison Jones, Midland, TX; two step-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John F. Jones and son, Ron Jones.
