Shawn Sutton, 54, of Olney, passed away at 3:10 PM on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Celebration of Life service will be at 6 PM on Friday, October 29, 2021 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Pastor Matt Johnson will be officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded.

Shawn was born on January 3, 1967, in Glendale, CA, the son of Jerry and Mary Theresa (Hughes) Sutton. He later married Stephanie Burgener on January 5, 2001 in Owensboro, KY. She survives.

He worked at North America Lighting in Flora for many years and also worked as a cook prior to that. He enjoyed going fishing in his spare time. He also enjoyed going to watch his boys play sports while in school and after they graduated and also enjoyed spending lots of time with his grandchildren.

Shawn is survived by his wife Stephanie Sutton of Olney; 3 sons Devon Johnson of Olney, Taylor Johnson of Claremont and Skyler Sutton (girlfriend Jocelyn VanMatre) of Olney; 2 grandchildren Gracelynn and Lucas Johnson; and father-in-law Steve Allen of Olney.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jerry and Mary Theresa Sutton, mother-in-law Brenda Allen and father-in-law Ron Burgener.

Memorials can be sent to the family to help pay for final expenses in memory of Shawn Sutton
