Shirley Ellison Morgan of Olney, passed away at 1:46 PM on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Burgin Manor in Olney.
Visitation will be Monday, June 27, 2016 from 1-2 PM in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM. Burial will be at North Freedom Cemetery in Noble. Pastor Mike Baker will be officiating.
Shirley was born August 19, 1926, in LaFollette, Tennessee, the daughter of Luther and Mellie (Burke) Leach. She later married William David "Frankie James" Ellison. She later married Louis Morgan. He preceded her in death.
Shirley worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years. She attended Antioch Christian Church. She enjoyed having children and loved taking care of her kids and grandkids. She will be sadly missed by her family friends and all who knew her.
Shirley is survived by 3 sons, David H. Ellison of Urbana, Danny Ellison of Sonora, Texas, and Frank Ellison of Olney; 4 daughters, Doris Kay Wagner of Austin, Texas, Nora Stout and husband Glenn of Olney, Vicky Kennedy and husband Kirk of Burnett, Texas, and Brenda Ginder of Olney; 2 step-sons, Louis A. Morgan Jr. and wife Janice of Carbondale and George David Morgan of Carbondale; 4 step-daughters, Georgia Flannery of Collinsville, Sue Gleason of Belleville, Pam Summerfield and husband Mike of West Salem and Peggy Monroe of Indianapolis; 21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Luther and Millie Leach, first husband William David "Frankie James" Ellison, second husband Louis Morgan, 2 sons, Donald Allen Ellison and Steve "Stevie" Ellison, daughter Joyce Ann, grandson Mike Stewart, step-son Gary Morgan, and many brothers and sisters.
Memorials can be sent to the funeral home to help the family with final expenses in memory of Shirley Morgan.
