Sophia Michl, age 96
Of Newton, IL and formerly of Ste. Marie, IL passed away at 9:55 AM – Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at
St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM – Friday, January 11, 2013 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, IL with Fr. Al Kemme celebrating mass. Burial will be in the St. Valentine's Cemetery in the Bend, Jasper County, IL. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the church. Memorials may be made to the St. Thomas Building Fund or to St. Thomas Church for Masses. Arrangements are under the care of Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL.

Sophia was born on March 30, 1916 in Jasper County Illinois the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Schuch) Hoffman. She married Lawrence A. Michl on June 4, 1936 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ste. Marie, IL and he preceded her in death on October 4, 2012
Sophie's greatest accomplishment was her family she loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. She had many talents and hobbies such as gardening, quilting, sewing, crocheting, cooking and canning,
Spending time with her family working puzzles, playing cards and bird watching brought her great joy.
