Stella Florence Donaldson, age 80

Stella Florence Donaldson, age, 80, of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away at 1:20 AM - Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Private family services will be held with burial in the Dieterich Village Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois.  In loving memory of Stella, memorials may be made to the family in care of Meyer Funeral Home, 307 East Center Street, Dieterich, Illinois 62424.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois.

Stella was born on September 30, 1939, in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Russel and Verla (Louder) Allen.  She was baptized as a member of Dieterich Christian Church.  She married Joseph Donaldson on August 26, 1960, and to this union 6 children were born.

Stella's family was her pride and joy.  She was known for being competitive, playing pool, playing cards and games.

Stella is survived by:

5 Children - Regina (Greg) Keepes of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; Jo Ann Donaldson,

Cathy Ensminger (Kenny Bohnhoff), Mary (Jason) Hayes and John (Margo) Donaldson all of Dieterich, Illinois

Daughter-in-law - Robin Donaldson of Hidalgo, Illinois

Sisters - Barb Decker of Casey, Illinois; and Joyce Bluhm of Effingham, Illinois

Brothers - Rex (Mary) Allen of Dieterich, Illinois; and Ronnie (Shirley) Allen of Edgewood, Illinois

9 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren also survive

Stella was preceded in death by her parents, son Jerry "Red Dog" Donaldson, siblings Mary Winterrowd, Ralph Allen and infant sister Shirley.
