Stephen Cowger, age 59

Stephen Cowger, of Wheeler, Illinois, passed away at 03:25 PM – Tuesday, March 20, 2018,

at his home.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 28 ^th at 3:00 pm, at the Clay City Cemetery, Clay City, Illinois with Nate Hagen officiating. Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.  In loving memory of Stephen, memorials may be made to Clay County Hospice in Flora, Illinois. Stephen was born June 17, 1958, the son of Rondle and Mabel (Kepley) Cowger of Ingraham, Illinois. He married Glenda Bricker on August 28, 1992, in Henderson, Kentucky. Stephen was a member and elder of the Latona Church of Christ.

Stephen was employed at Aherin Agri Business (Phil, Diane, Devin) of Dieterich, Illinois and had previously been employed by Danny and CJ Cox at Cox Brothers in Newton, Illinois for over 20 years.

Stephen is survived by his wife Glenda and daughter Tia. Also surviving are his parents Rondle and Mabel Cowger of Ingraham, Illinois, brother Gordon (Vickey) Cowger of Teutopolis, Illinois sister Laural Ann (Brett) Ackerman of Newton, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

Stephen was a faithful servant of God, loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
