Stephen Patrick Walsh, age 61
Steve Walsh, of Rosiclare, Illinois, passed away at 4:05 AM - Friday, October 14, 2016, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Graveside services celebrating Steve's life will be held at 3:00 PM – Friday, November 4, 2016, at the Stone Church Cemetery near Rosiclare, Illinois. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .
Stephen was born on April 14, 1955, in Ukiah, California, the fourth of six children born to Edward Joseph "Ed" and Cordelia Ann "Dee" (Mangrum) Walsh. He married Randee Goins on April 16, 1987, in Eureka, California.
Stephen loved philosophy and history and obtained a degree in Religious Studies from University of Santa Barbara, and studied for a year at the Institute of Philosophy, University of Leuven, in Leuven, Belgium. After returning to the United States, he obtained his Register Nurses license. He worked in many states including California, Alabama, Tennessee, Indiana, & Illinois. He especially enjoyed working in Hospice and in psychiatric nursing.
Stephen had a deep faith in God which governed his life. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Steve is survived by:
Wife of 29 years – Randee Goins Walsh of Rosiclare, Illinois
Children - Mirjana, Dominic, Luke, Noelle, and Riley Walsh of Rosiclare, Illinois
Brother – Pat (Tami) Walsh of Eureka, California
Sisters - Mary (Bob) Ferrell of Sheridan, Wyoming and Kay Astry of Los Angeles, California
Granddaughter - Nissa Walsh of Rosiclare, Illinois
Mother-in-law Ruth Goins of Rosiclare, Illinois
Several nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Mike and Larry Walsh and his father-in-law Bobby Goins.
